So you’d like to have your child’s birthday party at the Discovery Center… Congratulations! You’re one of those stellar parents who know how to pick a totally cool and unique venue for your kid’s party! Now for the details…

What do I get when I book a party?

We have a special room in The Discovery Center just for birthday parties. Here you will have two hours to enjoy the company of up to 30 guests, and watch some really great science demonstrations if you so choose. Then venture out to the rest of the Discovery Center and check out all of our impressive exhibits.

How do I book a party?

Call us at 343-9895, or stop in to make your reservation. We suggest 3 weeks in advance if possible. Daily party time slots are:

10:00 am to 12:00 pm (except Sunday)
12:30 pm to 2:30 pm
3:00 pm to 5:00 pm

• Liquid Nitrogen Ice-Cream: Our most popular demo shows the effects of liquid nitrogen on objects, and for making ice cream
• Space Marshmallows: What happens to marshmallows in the vacuum of space, and how does that affect taste?
• Slime: Use polymers to make a batch of slime
• Dino Dig: Unearth fossils and take them home (ages 5 and younger)

Looking for a WOW location for your next event? Are you ready for a museum experience which encourages you and your guests to touch everything?? Resolve your dilemma with a private event at the Discovery Center of Idaho! We have approximately 10,000 square feet of floor space available, intermingled with nearly 200 hands-on exhibits. Our building capacity is nearly 1,000 people. Reasonable hourly rates will enable you to deliver a most memorable event.
