Wish List
As a non-profit organization, the Discovery Center relies upon "In-Kind" contributions as well as cash contributions. In-Kind contributions usually take the form of supplies or equipment, new or used, and are a great help to our mission. An example of an In-Kind contribution that has had a great cost-savings and productivity impact for the Discovery Center are the high speed color printers donated by Hewlett-Packard. Nearly all outside printing costs were eliminated, and the Discovery Center now has in-house publishing capabilities. On a smaller scale, digital cameras donated to the Discovery Center have also helped our marketing efforts both in print and on our web site.
The Discovery Center is introducing this "Wish List" to our web site that will be updated regularly as a showcase for specific In-Kind donation needs. Below is our list of items that will help our effort at the Discovery Center to reach out to more people in Idaho, and improve the quality of their experience here at the Discovery Center:
- Digital video camera
- New or used SUV or van to help our outreach program safely get to all corners of Idaho
- LEGO Mindstorms NXT kits. Click here to see the kit on Amazon.com
- Rolling upright tool box (the kind typically used by mechanics)
- Cordless drill/screwdriver
- We would like is a retired but still working radio telemetry transmitter and receiver
- GPS Unit (Garmin, Magellan, etc.)
- 50 AA rechargable batteries, and recharger
Your contribution is tax deductible per IRS regulations. The Discovery Center of Idaho qualifies for the Idaho income tax credit for contributions to educational institutions and museums (the Idaho State Education Tax Credit), in addition to the usual charitable deduction
